Introduction
Education particularly higher education is known to benefit both the individual and the society immensely. Education promotes and preserves equality opportunities as well as access to various sectors of the economy the individuals. A masters’ level of education helps individuals acquire more efficiency in their careers since it provides them with a deeper knowledge and understanding of their particular fields of operation.
My academic life has enabled me to achieve many awards and certificates in many fields which include the academic, social, and even the political fields. I have achieved awards for being in the first position for Maths Quiz. I have completed workshops on interpersonal communications skills. I have participated in many interschool elocution competitions and also in the interstate technical festival. These are among the achievement achievements which I have been able to achieve throughout my life. I have been able to effectively deal with the behavior patterns which had been causing an undesirable effect on my interpersonal communication skills. This has enhanced my interpersonal and communication skills and I now consider myself eloquent in my speeches. This has given me the capacity to effectively express myself and to lead groups.
Social Benefits
I am going to benefit from the master’s education that I intend to acquire from Vanderbilt University. Vanderbilt University offers numerous academic and social activities to its students and these are certainly going to impact his life positively. Vanderbilt University offers community relations programs, alumni discount programs, government relation programs, volunteer opportunities, as well as lifelong learning processes and connections (Vanderbilt University, 2010). These programs are bound to help me acquire more life skills, which are very important for my survival as well as for solving problems that exist in society. The Vanderbilt University Alumni Association and other social programs within the university would help me acquire more social skills such as leadership and values, which are useful in society. I would therefore become a more logical and critical thinker by completing my master’s at Vanderbilt University due to the level of social exposure and social interaction that the university provides to its students.
I would be able to provide strategic leadership that is lacking in most organizations in the community. The community would therefore realize better economic development due to the greater knowledge and skills that I will come with from the university. I will be helpful in decision-making in community projects and project capital budgeting. My knowledge will be useful in helping the community integrate sustainability in community projects.
Technical Skills
Owen School of Management is going also to enable acquire higher knowledge and skills, which is very important for my job performance, thus I will be more efficient in my job performance. At the end of my education at Owen School of Management, I will be able to carry out performance evaluation of business processes and strategic leadership and management through better strategic planning as well as in decision –making processes. I will be able to develop better and more effective human resource strategies and policies. Finally, a master’s level of education would provide me with the knowledge and skills in the global business management context.
Benefits to Owen School of Management
My interpersonal communication skills would enable me to represent the school in any forum where the university finds it necessary to be actively represented. I would also represent the university in volunteer activities which are part of the university’s community programs. In all the activities that I would be allowed to represent the university, I will always strive to maintain and improve the reputation of the school and the university as a whole.
Conclusion
A masters’ level of education would be very beneficial to my overall growth. It would enable me to acquire life skills for my personal use as well as social and management skills for the development of the community. I would also be able to fine-tune my job skills and become more efficient and effective in my job performance.
